Skin Tags

Say goodbye to unwanted skin tags quickly! Get fast and easy removal at Echuca Skin & Laser Clinic.

What is a skin tag?

Skin tags are small, benign growths that commonly occur on areas of the body where skin rubs against skin, such as the neck, underarms, and groin. These soft, flesh-colored or slightly darker growths can vary in size and may cause discomfort or irritation if they catch on clothing or jewelry. While skin tags are generally harmless, many individuals seek their removal for cosmetic reasons or to alleviate discomfort.

At our clinic, we offer specialised treatment for the removal of skin tags using diathermy, a safe and effective procedure that uses high-frequency electrical current to cauterize and remove the growth. Diathermy is a minimally invasive technique that involves carefully applying heat to the base of the skin tag, causing it to shrivel and fall off. This method offers precise and efficient removal of skin tags with minimal discomfort and downtime, allowing patients to return to their daily activities immediately after treatment. Say goodbye to bothersome skin tags and hello to clear, comfortable skin with our advanced diathermy treatment.

Skin Tag Frequently Asked Questions

Doctors have not yet discovered their cause but generally the irritation from rubbing within the folds of the skin seems to cause them since the growths usually occur among skin folds — in the armpits, neck and groin, and sometimes on eyelids. They can also be side effect of pregnancy. Possibly due to hormones and weight gain.
SEB-K are harmless, and usually do not cause symptoms. They can itch, become inflamed, and catch on clothing. Many people dislike the look of them, particularly when they occur on their face.
Skin tags are annoying and can be unsightly if on the face or an exposed area. For this reason a lot of people do want them removed. However it is not essential as they are not dangerous.
Seborrheic keratoses do not go away on their own, but they can be removed if they become irritating or unsightly. There is no harm in not treating the growths, because they are benign (noncancerous) and do not become cancerous.
